Query for experienced world travellers

Only one month until departure.  I have a question for anyone who has travelled to London and or India.  We have two 8-hour layovers during our trip.  One at Heathrow airport on Jan 3 and one in Delhi on Jan. 23.

Is is possible for 25 people to see some of London during that time and get back in time for an international flight to Accra? and what about 8 hours in Delhi on Jan. 23 prior to departure for Bangkok?

  1. London is a great city and I think it is worth the effort and expense to leave the airport and see the city. I would take the Paddington Express into the city (about 40 minutes) and then transfer to the tube and make your way to Westminster Abbey, seat of English government for 1,000 years. Walk through the Abbey and see the chapels and graves of Chaucer and memorials to Shakespeare. Cross the street to see the Houses of Parliament then take a short walk to Big Ben.

Nearby is the London Eye, the giant ferris wheel where you can buy a ticket and see across the city. You would have time for a lunch of fish and chips or a good curry before you had to hop back on the Paddington Express to head back to the airport.

I would not take the regular subway. It can take two hours to get to Heathrow. I almost missed my plane the last time I did this.
